One Week Down, An Indeterminant Amount Of Weeks Remainding In My Lifespan Left.

I've now done a whole week of daily comics, and I must say it is invigorating.  Having something I need to brainstorm about every day has improved all my projects.  It's like a warm up for my imagination. Also, I've already used the comics to experiment a little and will do so again as I continue this daily comic challenge.  Furthermore I put a permanent link to the tumblr up at the top of this blog.

Just to explain the rules I'm following:

  1. A comic must be completed every day!
  2. Comics DO NOT need to be posted on that day, but it is preferable.
  3. Drawing quality can vary depending on how much time is available and what is appropriate for the concept.  The key goal is to explore an idea each day, not to create a visual masterpiece every day.
  4. There is no medium or format rules. I may do some traditionally and some digitally.  I may do a rendered out painting for one and a simplistic abstract black and white sketch for another.  Some may be horizontal some may be vertical.
  5. All comics must focus on a cohesive IDEA. No object or life studies. This isn't sketch of the day. Visual representation is not the purpose of these and thus that alone is not a valid comic.
  6. HAVE FUN!!!  If I'm bored I'm doing it wrong.  It's open ended enough that I can do almost whatever I want with it so I shouldn't get stuck in a rut.  If I start to be bored with the comics than its a sign I need to shift things up to make them interesting again.

Here again is the link to them:

A couple of days ago I started doing a comic a day. Figured I'd post 'em on my tumblr.

City of the Beasts Animatic

This is an animatic I made as part of a group project based on the book City of the Beasts by Isabel Allende.
